Microneedling

Microneedling is a natural and effective way to support your skin’s health, texture and overall glow. This treatment gently stimulates your body’s own collagen production, helping to smooth fine lines, reduce scars and improve skin tone over time. Whether you’re looking to restore radiance, treat acne scarring or reduce signs of ageing, microneedling offers a low-risk, non-invasive path to visible results. At LifeCycles, each session can be paired with acupuncture to support your whole body, making your treatment not just skin-deep, but deeply restorative.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive technique that triggers the body’s own healing process to produce more collagen and elastin and enhance cell turnover for younger-looking skin.

What Are the Benefits?

Microneedling is used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, pore size, and scars to reveal firmer, smoother skin and more even skin tone. Microneedling also allows for greater absorption and effectiveness of skincare products (such as plumping hyaluronic acid), up to 3000% in the research.

How Does It Work?

Microneedling creates extremely tiny “micro-traumas” in the skin which triggers a natural healing response. The healing response includes increased circulation (blood flow) as well as bringing proteins to "restructure" the area, which happen to be collagen and elastin. With repeated treatments, this increase in collagen and elastin can give the skin a smoother, healthier appearance as well as reduce fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, acne, and acne scarring.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

In general, three to four microneedling sessions (once per month) are required to see results. This depends on the age of the patient, because skin cell turnover (healing and renewal of new skin cells at the surface of skin) slows with age. For patients over 70, we recommend five to six microneedling treatments. Treatments are always spaced a month apart to give skin cell turnover time to complete before the next treatment.
